BACTEST Launches Speedy Breedy SeaSure to determine if treated ballast water complies with standards


November 21 2016 Cambridge UK based BACTEST, inventor and manufacturer of Speedy Breedy, the world’s most sensitive, versatile and portable contamination test has announced a new product variant specifically designed for the maritime market Speedy Breedy SeaSure®.


Speedy Breedy SeaSure® is a patent pending integrated ballast water testing solution suitable to be used on-board ship that gathers test results on microbial, phytoplankton and chemical contamination reporting on whether treated ballast water is compliant to the IMO-D2, VGP and other standards. This data is automatically input into a secure report called Ballast Log that is suitable for transmission to interested parties such as ballast water treatment systems manufacturers, ship owners and Port State control providing a secure audit trail.

In order to bring Speedy Breedy SeaSure® to market Bactest has partnered with Chelsea Technologies Group Ltd. to test for Phytoplankton and international water testing company Palintest Ltd. to measure chemical contamination, meaning that SpeedyBreedy SeaSure® is a one-stop shop to determine if treated ballast water is compliant to IMO D2, VGP and other standards and the only integrated ballast water testing solution suitable to go on-board ship.


Bactest has also partnered with leading US Ballast Water Treatment Company Hyde Marine whose customers have the option to buy Speedy Breedy SeaSure® alongside their Ballast Water treatment system Guardian Gold®. Speaking on the relationship Mark Riggio, Senior Market Manager for Hyde Marine said
